Meet Your Host

My name is John Dondzila. I am a service manager for an amusement
game manufacturer near the Jersey shore. I've been into video games
pretty much since they first came out, however over the past few
years I haven't been spending as much time on the hobby end as
I used to. The game in the picture is KLAX, one of my favorite
arcade games of all time. I don't collect arcade machines anymore
(I once had a basement full of them) but I always enjoy taking a
drive to the Silverball Museum in Asbury Park or any other place
with a nice well maintained selection of machines. I have written
software for two commercial arcade machines and am currently
working on software for two more.

The three little monsters below are my cats. I briefly had a Grayhound
but my busy schedule kept me from giving the dog the attention that he
required.

BACK BEFORE THEY WERE CLASSICS

Even back in my youthful days I enjoyed programming computers.
While I spent many hours in Radio Shack playing with their TRS-80's,
the first computer which I owned was a Commodore VIC-20. I wrote many
games and a small California company picked up 3 of my games and
marketed them in a package called SPACE PAK. While I had a 2 year
royalty contract, I only saw money for about 6 months but it was pretty
good money and kept me in Scotch and Scones for awhile. I later published
a type in program for the VIC-20 called COLORBOT. This was featured in
COMPUTE! magazine as seen in the above pictures. I'm not sure what became
of the others.
